06Safety
Important safety information
Thyroid hormones, alone or with other drugs, should not be used to treat obesity or for weight loss. In people with normal thyroid function, doses that are too high can cause serious or even life-threatening toxicity.
Too much can cause a fast or irregular heartbeat, chest pain, anxiety, trouble sleeping, heat intolerance and, over time, bone loss. Take it the same way every day, apart from calcium, iron and antacids, and keep up the labs your physician asks for.
Tell your physician about every condition and medicine before starting, and report any new symptom.
This page is general information and does not replace a consultation with a licensed physician, who decides whether a treatment is appropriate for you.
